John was born in West Virginia. He is deaf and a former student of Marian’s. He was never adopted, he has his own family but spent many summers traveling with Marian. He would also spend weekends during the school year with Marian. After he graduated from high school, he moved to California and lived with Marian for several years. He works at Walmart. Marian considers him one of her sons.
